Week of Nov. 4-8, 2012 - Final prep for project and PRESENTATIONS

First, WELCOME BACK after a week long restful Holiday!

Last chance to work on PowerPoint (PPT) presentations

  • In ILC classes from 1st of October, students have been asked (in handouts given out each class and on this website) to upload their PowerPoint project presentations to http://dropbox.com or keep them in email, so they could work on them during ILC classes set for that purpose.
  • During all of October, many students never brought their work to class
  • Last week of October - an EID deadline was set for submission of PPTs, for a pre-Assessment mark worth 10% of the final mark.
  • Only one out of four (20 out of 87 students in 5 sections) submitted PPT files and had them returned in email over Eid with feedback
    • The teacher had time over Eid to do this.
    • The teacher will NOT have time from Nov 5 to PRE-mark presentations
      • Your teacher will try to mark presentations submitted Sunday Nov 4
      • Presentations submitted on this day will be marked with a 15 point late penalty
      • This is to be fair to those who submitted presentations on time, and to discourage re-submission for a better mark
    • No PowerPoint slide show files were accepted for pre-marking after Sunday Nov 4

Week 9 October 21-24, 2012 - Final instructions for project

You will have only one ILC class this week, focusing on your project

You received your first handout about submitting your PowerPoint (PPT) during our second week together, beginning of October. This handout asked you to print your PPT slides (4 slides per page) and store a copy at http://dropbox.com. You have been asked and reminded to do that frequently since then.

Next week AFTER EID you will have ten classes, and we will start our presentations

  • We will schedule the presentations (5 to 7 minutes) once we see the schedule for that week
  • You will prepare and practice vocabulary for airplane engines (worth 5% of your mark in this course)

Week 8 October 14-18, 2012

You will have two ILC classes this week

Here is the handout

In each class open http://kbzac.pbworks.com/ in a web browser

and be prepared to show it to your teacher on your ILC computer

In your first class this week

You should

  • Complete the last of three vocabulary worksheets for AIRMANSHIP
  • Print a HANDOUT of your project PPT, 4 slides per page, and give it to the teacher
  • Fill in the progress report for what you did during class in the ILC today

In your second class this week

  • At the beginning of the class you will take your AIRMANSHIP vocabulary quiz on the computer
PRINT A COPY OF THE RESULTS FOR YOUR TEACHER
  • When you finish that you may work on your project
  • Fill in the paper for what you did during this class this week
